Evangelos, Zito's late owner, was born on the beautiful island of Kefalonia, GR and was a well-known skilled and amazing chef. His wife Helen, was born in Montreal, CA. Both with restauranteering in their family history, they set off on a journey together working in & operating restaurants, while raising a tight-knit family of 6 children. In 2014, they settled in the charming city of Winston-Salem, NC when they decided together to open Zito!

Sadly in November of 2018, Evangelos tragically passed away, leaving behind his loving wife, six children and countless family members and friends. With tremendous support from a wonderful community to carry on, his beloved family continued his great works reopening Zito! in 2019.
